Questions
Ask anything.
Most of what people want to know is below. If yours isn't, write to me. One address, one person reading it.

A reply usually takes a day, sometimes two.

What’s hardest to keep up with right now?
Using it
Is it free?
Yes, while it is in beta, and there is no card anywhere in it. If that changes it will say so here and inside the app before anything is charged, and nothing you have already written will be locked away.
Do I have to use both halves?
No. Plenty of people will only ever use the household side, or only the friends side.
Does it work if I live alone?
Yes. The household half works with one person in it, and the friends half never needed anybody else. Sharing is there when you want it and never required.
Does everyone in my house need the app?
For a household, yes, with an invite code. For friends, no: a friend can answer a question through a plain web page with no app and no account.
Is there an Android version?
No, and not soon, because one person builds this and iPhone is where it works properly. If that changes it will be on this page.
What it’s like
Is this another app that will make me feel worse?
That is the specific thing it is built to avoid, so there is no streak and no list of what you missed.
Do I need a diagnosis?
No. Nothing asks, and nothing here is medical advice.
Will it nag me?
It will remind you more than once, because that is what works. It uses the same words every time and never mentions how many times it has asked.
What happens to my data?
It is yours. Nothing is sold and nothing goes to advertisers, and anything you enter can be deleted in the app. To export everything, or to remove the account and all of it, email hello@beatriceapp.com. The privacy policy has the full detail.
Who is building it?
One person, Brian Long. The story explains the name, and this letter explains why it exists.
Still curious?
The fastest answer is to try it. Beatrice is free while it's in beta, on iPhone.
